Happy WOYWW #430 and Welcome to the Flip-Through of my August Challenge Junk Journal.
If you'd like to find out more about Julia Dunnit's fun weekly Wednesday blog hop, please visit her excellent blog HERE. I may get behind in responding to comments as well as visiting the whole list early enough. Please forgive any lateness. I should be able to manage it eventually, even if I get behind. I am an irregular, sporadic desker, so you may not see me for a few weeks.
So what is on my particular workdesk this time around? A finished Junk Journal. I'm offering a "tour" of its many pages here. My guests are welcome to view as few or as many as they wish. I actually did not think that there would be enough time to finish it, but once I'd rediscovered the ease and quickness of wrap style bookbinding, I knew that I'd soon have the whole thing done and ready to be played with. This is a long post, so I will leave the rest to the photo "slide show" below. For more on the earliest stages of this project, guests may wish to follow the link HERE.
I can hardly wait to see what my fellow deskers are up to this week!

A lot of work here on display, Rose. Well done.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Thank you Margaret!

Love the junk journal, especially the 3rd signature with all the chocolate, orange and gold! Nice to see you here again! Sarah #13
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah. That's my favorite too. I wanted each signature to be a little different. But now I am considering making another journal that will feature chocolate throughout!
DeleteWow! What a variety of pages! Very cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
Carol N #22
Hi Carol - thank you for stopping by. Variety is my spice of life!

Hi Rose, looks like you've been busy. Gorgeous choice of colours, love it. Thank you so much for the visit to mine, have a great woyww and happy crafty week, Angela x11x
ReplyDeleteHi Angela! Thanks so much for stopping by with a kind word about this little messy project of mine. See you in about a month's time unless I get lucky!
ReplyDelete;)
there are so many interesting pages going in this journal :) did you bind all the pages your self or alter a pre made book? ( I was guessing you did the binding because of the bags tucked in for pockets) ~Stacy #37
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Stacy - You ask whether i bound my altered book. The answer is YES, but I kept it simple by using a wrapping technique that allows pages to be slid in or out from under their cords. So you were 100% correct!
Delete:)
Rose, You sure have been busy with your beautiful journal pages.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.
Happy WOYWW
Sue #9
Thanks for popping by Sue. This project took all month long for me to do - a little bit at a time.

Happy WOYWW have a great week xx Jan (30)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jan. Happy crafting!
DeleteGorgeous journal pages each so different, Love the sound of chocolate orange... you have been so busy, Have a fun filled crafty week ahead... May #10
ReplyDeleteHi May! thank you for stopping over. So glad you like my chocolate orange fudgy fun. It was a really messy but fun way to decorate a few pages.
DeleteEver had dark chocolate with orange flavor in it? A Dutch company named Droste used to make some. YUM. Cost Plus has carried it in the past
Junk journal- for sure I have enough to create one!
ReplyDeleterobyn 7
Thanks for stopping by Robyn! There's no time like the present for another junk journal. Hope you'll make one of your own soon
Delete;)
Hi Rose, I really enjoyed flipping through your junk journal! I particularly like signature 3 - gorgeous drips and fabulous chocolate and orange too (good enough to eat lol!). I'm looking forward to seeing what further embellishments you put on these pages. It's a really fun and unique album. Thank you for your visit and I'm glad you got a laugh out of my bra woes lol! The kittens certainly have grown, and my hubby is out with them now at the vet's having their booster inoculations done. How time flies.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,
Shoshi #33
Thanks for stopping by with your kind encouragement, Shoshi. The vote so far seems to be for Signature 3. It's actually my favorite out of the 3, but then I am not finished with this book yet. I actually didn't think there'd be enough time for me to get it done on time.
DeleteOne of the prompts was to use what we have already on hand, so I did. This made me think outside of the "box." And the time factor really pressed at my thoughts to keep going and to try and not overthink the whole process.
(I did overthink it more than once lolz)
When I finally stopped overthinking, I ended up with everybody's favorite signature of the 3. Who knew? Lolz
Ahhh lingerie blues...been there, seen that, bought the Tshirt.
Losing weight is good but it presents new challenges too.
it's all good! Kiss the kitties for me and enjoy your shopping!
:)
What a great journal, displaying lots of techniques. I'm totally with you on having all the "Holidays" out of season and goods in the shops months in advance. Not a fan of that! Thanks for stopping by today.
ReplyDeleteFiona #36
Hi Fiona! Thank you for the visit and your kind words.
DeleteYes. Let's take each season WHEN it comes. Lolz
;)
thanks for sharing your junk journal! thanks for visiting. will be sure to share my prints when i start! Helen #1
ReplyDeleteYay! Glad to know you're planning on sharing your gel prints with your fellow deskers! Have fun - it's addictive!
DeleteHi Rose. That is a wonderful journal. Quite an achievement. Thanks for stopping by and the lovely comment on my card. Happy WOYWW Heather #25
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather! I won;t really be finished with it for a while, but this is only the beginning for that book.
DeleteP.S. Of course I liked your card - it's a luscious design. :)
Rose LOVEEEEE your junk journal! I am quite fond of the "chocolate orange runny" page! Love those colors! I have never done a junk journal before and you may just have inspired me to do so! In between all my other things! LOLOL Thanks for stopping by my blog, you are so sweet! Blessings, Felicia #32
ReplyDeleteThanks Felicia ! I'm very happy that you like my messy little journal. Seems like everybody who's cast their vote thus far likes the same signature that we both do. I have a thing for dark chocolate with orange flavor in it. One of my very favorites.
DeleteYour ATCs rock! The saga of the traveling puzzle piece makes me smile!
Lolz
Blessings to you too hon!
Junk journal - very cool !!! Makes me think I need to work on my journal....
ReplyDeleteDarlene #34
Darlene I know right - I mean, if Kerry had never offered a challenge for the month of August, I would not have tried so many different ideas. Maybe we sometimes need encouragement or a nudge form our fellow creatives to DO what we love doing.

Thanks for sharing the journal...great pages. And thanks for stopping by! Yes, black gesso is pretty neat stuff, but you might do better tinting the white to brown. Have a great week.
ReplyDelete-K #29
Thanks Kim! I'm thinking that the right ratio of black to orange might make a richly toned brown, but I might be wrong about this Lolz
DeleteThat is some journal - fabulous. I think the orange/yellow pages are my favourites and it is hard to pick one from them but I also like the Deli paper one at the beginning. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteWell done you!
Hugs, Neet 5 xx
Making those page backgounds looks like a lot of fun! x Jo
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by here Jo - Yes, it has been a fun experience. It's also taught me some new things.

ReplyDeleteThank you Marit! I'm pleased you like my messy little junk journal. Tot de volgende keer!
Delete;)
Your junk journal looks like so much fun! (I might have to make one myself!)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, thanks for your visit! Lindart #35
Thank you for visiting me, Linda! The journal has been a lot of fun. It took a lot more time to make than I'd presumed, so I'll need a break from such things for a while, including WOYWW for a few weeks.
Deletexo
What a fabulous journal, Rose...you have been so creative! Such a great variety of colour and texture you have my mouth watering!
ReplyDeleteHi Win - We can blame our watering mouths on all the chocolate colored paint I used ! Lolz
DeleteLooks amazing Rose, thank you for joining in. Will post a link to this in the facebook group too so everyone who took part can see xx
ReplyDeleteHi Kerry! I'm glad you were able to find a moment in your busy schedule to pay me a visit. The book shifted direction a few different ways. I had to leave out one whole signature too.
DeleteThanks for the facebook link to my blog! I appreciate it very much.
And now I need a rest! Lolz August has been jam crammed with too much to do and very little time for even a breather.
Slowing down now as I slide into September.....
;)
Fabulous journal Rose! I love everything about it! Handmade books/journals are one of my most favourite things to do, after winter, when I've done some more knitting :)
ReplyDeleteHi RosA - Thank you for stopping by! I once spent a lot of free time doing mainly crochet but also some knitting as well, so i think I know what you mean about it coming first.
Delete;)
Loving the junk journal and glad you liked my childhood memory photos, hugs and thanks for the visit BJ#23
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping by BJ! I really do like your childhood memory photos. they are, indeed, special.
ReplyDeleteHi Rose, lots of great pages! Late visiting the second half of the list, had real trouble with my shoulder. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #3 X
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz So glad you were finally able to make it to my blog. So sorry to hear about that shoulder issue. I can relate. Blessings on that upcoming radiotherapy

ReplyDeleteHugs Lisax #17
Thanks for the visit and the fun comment, Lisa! I really enjoy other ppls creative process too. It's fun to take a peek at somebody else's process, isn't it?

Thanks for your visit earlier ... Drs is sorted now and PJ is a lot happier.
ReplyDeleteThat's a brilliant journal, thanks for sharing all the ins and outs. Journaling is on my bucket list!!
Christine #15
Hello Christine and thanks for making the time in your already crowded schedule for a visit to my blog! So glad to hear that the Dr issue's been sorted. Journaling has become a permanent passion for me. This began with a Commonplace book or glue book of some of my favorite things (medieval art and architecture, illuminated manuscripts, etc). Nowadays, I make messes using color! I highly recommend following your passions for that bucket list journal

I can tell you had tons of fun with this Rose! Great stuff - love the drippage! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Everybody seems to enjoy that drippy signature 3 0 and this includes me!
