New projects take time, especially when one is starting from scratch. This one offered a series of challenges, and so it took months for me to design and make everything. I really enjoyed this process. Please forgive me if I am unable to leave many comments. The eyesight issue has its challenges as well, but I'll try and visit as may of you as possible this week regardless.

Rose this entire project is just lovely
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tanya. It's very nice to see you here!

What a wonderful gift! I love how it filled with things that she can use! If i were her, i would probably send it back when i had used everything, filled with things for you to use - a gift that could keep on giving, over and over! Have a great week, Lindart #25
ReplyDeleteHi there! :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving such a thought provoking idea for a different sort of a swap between friends. In this case, as her earlier gift to me is foe keeps, I considered this one to likewise be hers on a permanent basis.
And actually, it's kind of funny that you've suggested passing a book back and forth. We are doing a small (North America only) swap at Lisa's FB group this December using a flattened version that is based on the design of the 2nd book that is tied inside of the green outer book. The group's name is Lisa My Eclectic Life.

Gorgeous project Rose, I love the rich emerald green colour. Looks amazing. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #8 X
ReplyDeleteThank you, Roz. I'm glad you like it. Green is Lisa's favorite color as it is mine.
DeleteJust love the book, it looks so intricate and I love it . Helen #3
ReplyDeleteThank you, Helen. It's so nice to see you here.
DeleteRose, this is such a lovely gift for your friend Lisa with all the extra crafty embellishments that she can use too. Thanks for sharing such detailed descriptions. The gelli print flowers are particularly gorgeous. Happy WOYWW and great to see you back. Sarah #5
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah! It's nice to be among my fellow deskers once again. So glad you like the gelli print flowers as those were a lot of fun for me to make.

This is gorgeous Rose and I love your choice of colours too. What a gorgeous gift. Happy belated woyww, Angela x13x
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping by and leaving me such a nice comment. I'm glad you also love the color of this project for my friend, as green has been my favorite for most of my life.
DeleteWow, what a fab book!! Love the colour and the other goodies!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,
Claire, no.1
Thank you, Claire. So glad you liked my first foray into triptych books. This was extra fun for me to make in that the person it was made for is a truly special person.
DeleteThis project is just beautiful, Rose. I love how the main colour scheme holds the whole thing together, and the embellishments are lovely and varied. Such a good plan to keep all one's "failures" because cut up and made into something else, they have a new lease of life and are beautiful in their own right. Your friend is going to be more than delighted with this!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your nice comment - Ruby is a sweetie! - and I'm glad you like my crochet leaves, too.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #15
Hi Shoshi! Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Choosing the colors for Lisa's project was easy as she and I tend to like similar things. We are both crazy for copper, greens, blues etc., for example. This made the whole process even more of a pleasure than if our tastes were differing.
DeleteI hope to make another, similar one for a charity auction scheduled for late in the year.
I really do like your crochet leaves very much and hope to one day be able to see the whole project once it is completed.
Kiss the kitties for me!
:)
Thank you for sharing this beautiful little book - it was very interesting to see your thought processes and the making of it. I do love a good step by step how-to blog!

DeleteHello LLJ
DeleteThank you for taking an interest in my new project. I'm so glad you liked the How To part. I actually did that partly for my own benefit and for future reference, as I plan on making another, similar one of these for a charity auction soon, but was uncertain as to how many of the details lf construction I could retain in my aging pea brain. ;)
Wow! Your projects take a long time because you have so many awesome details going on. It's just lovely! Happy late WOYWW! Dorlene #26
ReplyDeleteHi Dorlene
DeleteThank you for stopping by and leaving me such a kind comment. Really, though, my slowness had more to do with the fact that eyesight and other health problems were slowing the process throughout. I had to make a few patterns for the book itself and "test drive" them, of course, but that is always a fun part of the process for me anyway.
:)
Oh well done Rose, this is a beautiful gift, a triumph! Lisa will love it and the chance to use the various bits that you’ve made and sourced too, how thoughtful you are.
ReplyDeleteHello Julia!
DeleteIt's always so nice to have a visit from our Queen of the Wednesday Deskers. Your encouraging words make me smile. Thank you so much taking the time to leave me such a kind comment here.

What a fab colour! Love the book and am sure your friend will too. I do like the daisies on the paper clips.

ps the hole is just where water came in from the loft and brought part of the ceiling down
Hi Neet
DeleteThank you for popping by. I'm glad you like the color. it is a favorite of Lisa's and one, both. The paper clips were a lot of fun to make, and fairly simple, too. Hot glue is my secret ingredient. ;)

Hi Rose. That gift is just stunning - well done! So much thought and work has gone into it.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.
Margaret #2
Hi Margaret. Thanks for the friendly vote of confidence. It was my pleasure to work on this for Lisa. It is actually a fairly basic design. It just needed some tinkering. ;)
DeleteYour project looks fantastic, Rose! I'm so happy that you can stay creative despite your health issues. It helps you to cope, I'm sure! All the best xx
ReplyDeleteHello Zsuzsa
DeleteI'm glad you like this project. it was fun making something that I'd never tried before for a friend. How perceptive of you! - it really has helped me to cope!
xoxo
Hi Rose, what a beautful book and wonderful gift for your friend, I love the green-blue colours and all the pockets with gorgeous things which Lisa can use in her own projects, what a great idea. Have a lovely creative week :o) Annie C #14
ReplyDeleteHi Annie C
DeleteThank you for stopping by. Greens and blues and their combinations are Lisa's and my favorites, making this an especially delightful way to go. She may also turn either of the books included into something new, such as her own Midori style notebook or journal, if she wishes. Whatever her heart desires.
:)
What a wonderful and exquisitely made book. Lisa i am sure will adore such beauty and the whole thing is breathtaking because of the details and love set into it. x
ReplyDeleteThank you, June. It is very kind of you t say that. Lisa's earlier gift to me really did inspire me to go beyond the bounds of the known for a newer approach to gift making. Sometimes,we look to friends for inspiration. xo
