WOYWW #437: Leaf Prints + Happy Mail !

This week, I am still having trouble keeping up with everything, so I won't be able to comment very much. Thanks for your patience.
I'm leaving the Happy Mail for  visual "dessert," in the 2nd half of this post. There's no relevant news today about my optic nerve problem. That's just as well - let's stick with ART and friends for now.

For more WOYWW fun, please visit our Queen of the Wednesday Deskers, Ms Julia Dunnit, located HERE.

For health reasons, I will leave the pictures + their captions to tell most of the story.
Happy WOYWW and thanks for stopping by today!

And now for the HAPPY MAIL!!!
:)

  1. Girl, I love the gelli art!! I think the ones on the deli paper or the tissue paper with the fronds on it and the one that looks like a cattail image are my favs!! I have done a little gelli arts, but not as much as I need to. I am so thrilled that you are enjoying the little thingies I sent you. So happy that it perked you up. It sure perked me up. Better days are coming my friend!!! hugs, patty

    1. Thanks for the kind kudo, you watercolorist you!.
Lord willing "and the creek don't rise," better days are ahead, my generous friend.
I found a few things I won't be using + I made something I hope you will enjoy. I should be sending them to you by sometime next week. For one thing, I have SO MUCH paper. I'll email you a question or 2. There is ZERO need for you to reply to this. You've gifted me so sweetly, and it's actually lightened my mood a lot. This has added to my creative play enormously. You deserve extra thanking!

    1. Thank you, Julia. Another kind boost to my morale. I don't know what variety of plant looks bullrush-like. It was a fun surprise how it LOOKS bullrush-y.

    1. Thank you Zsuzsa! :) I kinda like the one on the right, 1st pic myself. Is that what you meant by "third"? But I do also like how the middle one turned out. The trees are fast losing their leaves. so I will have to hurry now! Experiments are fun, no?

  5. So sorry to hear about your eye problem, Rose. I hope it clears up soon, and in the meantime, I hope you get some answers as to the cause. Despite this drawback, the art you are producing is absolutely fantastic! Gorgeous colours. And how lovely to receive the "happy mail" - guaranteed to cheer you up, I am sure! Thank you for your visit, and I'm glad you enjoyed seeing my studio.

    Happy WOYWW,

    1. LLJ Thanks for the well wishes, Jan. At the moment, it looks like it could take a lot of time with rest. Nobody's offered any cure so far. But there's always art with friends + happy mail is really nice now and again. ;-)

  7. I love the gelli-prints and it's something you can do even when you have eye problems I think. I hope that it can be fixed so that you can clearly look at all the wonderful happy mail! Thanx for stopping by my blog yesterday, hope your week is bright and shiny! Love from The Netherlands, Marit #18

    1. Marit Thanks for stopping by my blog. Yes, you are correct as to my project being a fairly simple one for me to handle with this eye problem. I can see my happy mail best one-eyed, without the cloudy veil of the other eye, so I sometimes simply close the veiled eye for clarity's sake. The weekend is close at hand, so let me wish for you that yours will be an enjoyable one. ;)

  8. Gorgeous prints, Rose - I can see this is a losing battle!!! I'm done for already. You're a lucky lady to have received such a beautiful parcel from Patty - isn't she a peach. I, too, love that little print; the contrast of the intense leaf against the soft background is pure delight! xo

    1. I would not be so sure about being "done for," Win! you've got some serious gelli power on your side! Some of mine really are a mess, more abstract-y sorts of muddles. lolz I'm sure i'll eventually make some use of my messed-up ones. But what I'd really like to say here is a big Thank You for having set me off!
I was in a bit of a rut and also feeling a bit too blue for my comfort. You and Shelby woke me out of it!
Patty needs to take the hint about her ability with watercolor. I think she's really got something going for her! With your words, "the contrast of the intense leaf against the soft background is pure delight! " will encourage her. xo
